Hello! Today i wanna give you some example about argumentative text.
Uncovering Fraud in The 2024 Election in Indonesia
Thesis
Indonesia
held a general election on February 14, 2024. This election is the fifth
general election in Indonesia which aims to elect the President and Vice
President of the Republic of Indonesia. The President of Indonesia is directly
elected by the people through general elections every five years. However, in
this general election, there were many problems that occurred and eventually became
a debate throughout the community. One of them is about cheating in entering
the final score of each election.
C. Argument 1: Many ballots were spoiled, switched and lost.
One
of the main problems observed during the election was widespread ballot damage.
Many instances were reported where voters accidentally marked more than one
candidate or had their votes invalidated due to unclear instructions. Reports
of ballot papers being switched during the vote counting process have also
added to people's concerns. Several cases where ballot boxes from different
polling stations were accidentally or intentionally swapped have been
documented. This chaos poses a serious threat to the accuracy of election
results and jeopardizes the democratic foundations of the electoral process. In
addition, the loss of ballot papers has emerged as a critical issue,
jeopardizing the entire exercise of democracy. The disappearance of ballot
papers not only raises questions about the security of election materials, but
also undermines citizens' trust in the electoral process. A comprehensive
investigation is essential to identify the root causes of spoiled, switched and
lost ballots and to implement corrective measures to prevent such incidents in
future elections.
D.
Argument 2: The ballot boxes were not sealed properly.
Another
problem is that ballot boxes are not properly sealed and this jeopardizes the
fundamental integrity of the electoral process. The lack of adequate seals
raises questions about the authenticity of the votes, leading to uncertainty
about whether the election results truly reflect the will of the people.
Democracy thrives on the principles of transparency and fairness. Poorly sealed
ballot boxes undermine these principles, and cast a shadow on the legitimacy of
elections. This jeopardizes the essence of democratic governance, which relies
on the trust and confidence of voters. The absence of security seals on ballot
boxes opens the door to potential electoral fraud. Without adequate protection,
there is an increased risk of tampering, unauthorized access or the insertion
of fraudulent votes, threatening the accuracy and validity of election results.
Election authorities should take immediate steps to rectify the sealing issue,
implementing stricter measures to ensure the security and integrity of the electoral
process in future elections.
E.
Argument 3: Polling stations start late to polling stations that are inflexible to people with disabilities.
The
final problem of this election was the delayed opening of polling stations
which raised serious concerns about the efficiency and organization of the
electoral process. Delays in opening can lead to long queues, inconvenience for
voters, and may even discourage some people from exercising their democratic
rights. This undermines the principle of a smooth and accessible electoral
experience for all citizens. Ensuring that polling stations open on time is
critical to upholding the democratic ideal of inclusive participation.
Inaccessible polling stations can hinder the participation of persons with
disabilities, violating the principles of equal and inclusive representation.
These omissions not only undermine the rights of voters with disabilities, but
also perpetuate inequalities in society. Authorities should prioritize the
establishment of accessible and accommodating polling stations for voters with
disabilities, to ensure that every citizen can participate in the electoral
process without discrimination. To address these issues, comprehensive reforms
in the organization of elections are needed. This includes improved planning,
coordination and infrastructure development to ensure the timely start of
polling stations and the establishment of disability-friendly polling stations.
Investments in technology and training for election officials are also
essential for a smoother and more inclusive electoral process.
Conclusion:
In
summary, the 2024 Indonesian general election faced significant challenges,
sparking widespread debate. The primary focus was on the integrity of the
results, with three key issues identified. Firstly, widespread damage to ballot
papers, including accidental markings and switched ballots, posed a serious
threat to accuracy, prompting the need for a comprehensive investigation and
corrective measures. Secondly, improper sealing of ballot boxes raised doubts
about the fundamental integrity of the electoral process, necessitating
immediate steps to rectify the issue and prevent potential fraud. Lastly,
delayed polling station openings and inaccessible locations hindered inclusive
participation, emphasizing the need for comprehensive reforms, including improved
planning, coordination, infrastructure development, and technology investments,
to ensure a smoother and more inclusive electoral process in the future. The
next general election must have significant changes, to make Indonesia a wise
democratic country.
